Bekasi – A theatre entitled “For Better or Worse” by 23-16SP showed on The 24th Theatre Festival on The Amani Palladium Theatre, LSPR Transpark, Bekasi. On 10 February 2020, this theatre production was guided by Mrs. Patricia Vicky Sihombing, M. Si as Intro to Performing Art Communication lecturer and Syahri Nur Alifah S. I. Kom as an assistant lecturer.

Joanna felt something strange from her husband, Herbert

For Better or Worse is telling a story about a married couple, Joanna and Herbert. Because of financial issue, they decided to have a child five years after their marriage. One night, Joanna was three months old pregnant. Herbert got home late from work. Joanna felt something strange from her husband. His shirt is messy, and there’s a “wine” stain from his shirt. But Herbert was not telling her a single thing.

Two detectives knocked on Joanne apartment

After a couple of days later, two detectives knocked on her apartment. They asked if she knew a woman named Martha. Joanna didn’t recognize the name. They were also looking for Herbert, who’s not at home at that time.

Herbert is feeling the pressure until he decided to kill Martha

A couple of days has passed, and Herbert hasn’t come home yet. Joanna felt a bit suspicious and worry at the same time. Until one night he’s finally home and tells her everything. When they were going through dark times after their marriage, Herbert met a woman named Martha. Their relationship got a bit serious until Martha got pregnant. She gave birth to his daughter. After that, he disappeared on her. But one night, he met her again on a bar. She blackmailed him into giving her money, or she’ll tell the truth to everyone, including Joanna. Herbert is feeling the pressure until he decided to kill her. After telling Joanna everything, they chose to hide Herbert in their apartment until the case is closed.

Joanna and Herbert survived and got away with everything, and she gave birth to her first child

Unfortunately, Debora, one of Joanna friend, visited her. Herbert greeted her, and she felt suspicious. Herbert was forced to captured Joanna’s friend and kept her hidden in their cupboard. One day, one of the detectives who’s in charge of the case, Joey, came to the apartment to check on Joanna. He accidentally heard voices coming from the cupboard. It’s where Herbert hide and also try to silence Joanna’s friend. Joanna killed Joey before he can react. Herbert also killed Debora to shut her mouth. In the end, Joanna and Herbert survived and got away with everything, and she gave birth to her first child.
