On Monday, February 11, 2019, 22-14A class students presented a theatre entitled The Act of Living at Prof. Dr. Djajusman LSPR Auditorium, Campus B, LSPR-Jakarta. This theatre is the result of guidance from a lecturer, Ms. Patricia Vicky Sihombing, M.Si, and a lecturer assistant, Mr. Gerardo Tanor.
The plot of The Act of Living tells about an accidental meeting of Thomas and Evelyn at a bench in the park. At the age of 8, Tom was playing alone in the park when he suddenly heard the sound of footsteps of Evelyn. Later, Tom and Evelyn made a friendship agreement between them. Tom knew that Evelyn had to come to Lavenham because she had been evacuated from the war in London.
After the war in London was over, Tom and Evelyn had to leave each other, however, they promised to keep in touch through letters. After 4 years, Evelyn decided to return to Lavenham. Tom and Evelyn met again accidentally. And the story of their love became alive again.
The Act of Living performed by students has succeeded in conveying the content of the journey of life, confession, conflict, and separation in it. The character of Evelyn, played by Nadin Amizah, and the character of Thomas, played by Dimas Rehand, was performed very professionally. The audience was enthusiastically involved in the storyline.
Thierza Ariella, the Director of The Act of Living, said that the message of the story was to show a real life that would always be like that, full of meetings, farewells, problems, but whatever could happen, we all had to love each other.
