The year of 2019 became an astounding start for LSPR Public Speaking Club (LSPR PSC). People from LSPR PSC were challenged to start their first external competition run with the toughest competition at Asia- Asian English Olympics. Representing LSPR and Indonesia, the speakers took up the challenge and performed extensively well at the Binus Anggrek Campus from the 11th to 15th of February.
LSPR PSC sent three speakers such as Rinaka Gustavano (Batch 20; former PSC President), Dylan Huber (Batch 21; current PSC Vice-President) and Aisyah Ramadanti (Batch 21; current vice minister of International Relations). Out of 109 participants from different countries across Asia, Rinaka managed to make it to top 5 (finalist), Dylan and Aisyah did it to top 40 (quarterfinalists). The speech competition consisted of five rounds in total.
Furthermore, increasing their silverware, Public Speaking managed to add more treasures to their cabinet of victories! The storyteller of LSPR PSC, Kelvin Efendi (Batch 20; PSC senior member), got two medals from the competition. One medal was for the 1st runner up in the competition and the second medal was for the ”best slides and visuals.” Out of 62 participants in total, Kelvin managed to attain the 2nd position. He battled through all five rounds of the competition.
