LSPR-Jakarta held its 12th Lecturer Convention on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Prof. Dr. Djajusman Auditorium & LSPR Performance Hall. This event was intended to gather all LSPR-Jakarta lecturers to discuss and learn about the latest education topics.
The event began with opening remarks from the Founder and Director of LSPR-Jakarta, Ms. Prita Kemal Ghani, MBA, MCIPR, APR, who also introduced the application of new teaching methods like E-Learning.
The event continued with a seminar held by Mr. Richardius Eko Indrajit, M. Sc, MBA, regarding Industrial Revolution 5.0 and the use of technology to assist humans in everyday life. The focus of seminar was on the importance of cyber pedagogy or digital / network based teaching techniques.
Furthermore, Mr. Mike Hardy, CMG, OBE, FRSA, the Executive Director of the Center for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University, UK Chairman, continued the event with a “Effective Leadership in Higher Education: The Challenges of the 21st Century” seminar.
The next event was dedicated to the E-Learning method at LSPR Campus to the lecturers introduced by Mr. Dendy Muris. After that, Prof. Dr. Franco Gandolfi, Vice Chancellor (President) & CEO of Manipal International University (Malaysia), talked about the importance of forming constructive classes for each student.
“The education system in Indonesia, as well as in KL, is still often focused on memorizing facts and data. Where they should have begun to implement open education; open-minded & open book. Many studies have found the effectiveness of Hybrid teaching and learning; from E-Learning and face-to-face. I think education in the future will be towards this teaching system, ” explained Franco to LSPR News.
The event was closed with the Best Lecturer of Undergraduate Program and PGP LSPR-Jakarta awarding. Ms. Rani Chandra Oktaviani who is responsible for the Undergraduate Program and Mr. Rudi Iskandar responsible for the Postgraduate program received awards.
