Bekasi – STIKOM-LSPR again succeeded in making the 23rd Theatre Festival. This is an annual three-weeks performance festival that is held for students enrolling in first year of LSPR studies. In enhancing students’ creativity and event organising skill, the Theatre Festival is meant for final exam of Performance and Arts Communication (PAC) subject.
Showing “Soul of Sewu”, “Transient Apple”, “Moirai”, “Out The Musical”, “Orange Juice”, “Jenna”, and many more. In total of 16 classes, the festival was held on Amani Palladium Theatre, LSPR-Transpark Juanda from July 15th to August 2nd. Students had indeed successfully created such an artistic theatre performance, starting from folklore adaptations to independent musical arrangements.
“Jenna” Theatre from class 22-20A, managed to perform a musical theatre with a hint of drama. A beautiful story that portrays the suffering of Jenna (Grisella Stefany) in facing her abusive husband, Earl (Julio Parikesit) while being pregnant. Emotions were delivered nicely through singing, and dances, as well the use of lighting to support them. Sad, witty, yet inspiring is what this theatre simply is.
The hype of audiences also came to cheer “Out The Musical” by 22-24A. Lectured by Mr. Mikhael Yulius Cobis, the theatre succeeded to create an original piece that touches audience’s hearts. Directed by Geta Alaina Gwyneth Satrio, all the bits in this production was made originally starting from script, choreographs, to songs and lyrics. The theatre represents the creativity that is trying to be intrigued by this subject.
To close, all performances are result of hard work and sweats from all first year LSPR students. Awarding night to announce winners from best production, set design, to actor/actresses will be held in the upcoming August 15th. (Nadira)
