Jakarta – The Ministry of the Faculty of Communication LSPR Communication and Business Institute held their first Webinar of the Series of Webinar Communication on 22 June 2020. The first Webinar from Public Relations & Communication discussed about the Phenomenon of Clickbait and Public Relations featuring Ms. Rizka Septiana, M.Si, IAPR, Deputy Head of Media Relations and Corporate Reputation Department LSPR Communication & Business Institute, Director of Membership Division ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN), Head of The Youth Development in Perhumas Indonesia., and Director of PT. Citra Media Utama. The session was moderated by Heidy Isabel, Minister of Public Relations & Communication LSPR Communication & Business Institute.
The Series of Webinar Communication aims to provide a platform during the “Stay at Home” period, to discuss and share about the Public Relations story in their journey. The session began with a question about what is clickbait and the impact for the Public Relations field. In the middle of the session, Ms. Rizka Septiana introduced her friend from the Media, Mr. Arief Wibisono, Ms. Sali Pawiatan, and Mr. Rizanto Binol also shared their perspective about Clickbait from the journalist perspective. The session came to an end by discussing whether Clickbait is needed or not, and with conclusion Clickbait is not necessary and not in accordance with Journalism Ethics. As a Public Relations we don’t use a “clickbait” titles to get public attention because our goal should be to gain the public trust and maintain our relationship with the public, always do research and convey information based on available facts and know what media to use for the targeted public, maintain the relationship with the media. A total of 73 participants joined the webinar.
