Jakarta – As a community service by LSPR Research & Community Service, LSPR held a workshop at Polres Metro Bekasi Kota on Monday, 27 July 2020. The objective of the workshop is to enhance communication skills for “Ambassadors of Service” in Polres Bekasi. The workshop includes Public Relations theoretical and simulation through Verbal & Non Verbal Communication. Followed by 50 participants ; Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) Polres Metro Bekasi Kota. The speakers from LSPR Research & Community Service are Dr. Dewi Widowati, Dr. Sri Ulya Suskarwati, and Dr. Rubiyanto, give an insightful content with interactive way and focused to how the importance of non verbal communication while using the mask during pandemic.
Kombespol Wijonarko, S.I.K, M.Si Kapolres Metro Bekasi Kota, opened the workshop and gives an appreciation to LSPR Research & Community Service that already give the contribution to Pemkot Bekasi. “We are very grateful, and would like to say thank you to LSPR, this workshop is very important, we always want to give the best service to the Bekasi’s citizens. It can be succeed through excellent communication skills”
First session, Dr. Dewi emphasizes non verbal communication has a bigger portion rather than Verbal Communication. “The Appearance, expression, gesture, posture are the faster message caught by receivers, besides than the sentences and intonation”. In the second session, Dr. Ulya gives a Public Speaking simulation in a fun way. Therefore, The Bekasi Citizens can feel comfortable during communicate with ASN “The Ambassador of Service”. “The communication challenges in pandemic is , how to express friendliness service while using a mask. Using smiling voice is the answer to express”. “Eventhough we are not in happy condition, we have to express that we are happy to serve the citizens. In communication, we called it Dramaturgy”., Dr. Ruby explained in the last session.
