Jakarta – In order to elect the President and Vice President of the LSPR Student League for the 2020/2021 period, an open debate event was held (9/10). This event was aired LIVE via the LSPR Student League youtube channel. The series of events opened by Ms. Mayke Angelica, enriched with words by Dr. Janette Maria Pinariya, S.Si, MM, Mr. Taufan Teguh Akbari, P.HD, and closed by the President of the LSPR Student League for the 2019/2020 period, Caroline Randhawa. This event was moderated by Mr. Yoseph Wahyu Kurniawan, S.I.Kom.

Also present were 3 panels, namely, Mr. Taufan Teguh Akbari, P.HD, Mr. Deddy Irwandi, S. SOS. M.Si, and Mrs. Patricia Vicky Sihombing, M.Si. Commenting on questioning Mr. Taufan, Achmad Syaugie President no 1 stated that his ideal version of leadership is community leadership. “Leaders who listen to the aspirations of their students do not always look up but also look down”, he said. As for the candidate number 2, Rio Alfandi commented on a question for Mr. Deddy. He said that in making a decision, he would first discuss with his cabinet and consider the impact, both positive and negative of this choice.

Then Mrs. Patricia had the opportunity to ask the Vice President for candidate pair number 1, Agnes Angela regarding student strategies in non-academic activities. Agnes stated, “The Action Cabinet will ask students directly what kind of non-academic event they want, so that includes many”. Then the Vice President candidate number 2, Jeremy Zivanya, got a question from Mr. Deddy. He asked about how the Act2al cabinet was working in its components. Jeremy mentioned 3 things to do, monthly meetings for evaluation, working with the timeline, and building a sense of kinship among cabinet members.

The highlight of this debate program is to comment on questions from students. Candidate pair number 1, commented on the booming business action. “LSPR has a social media presence, through these influencers can bring the desired aspirations through the media,” he commented. While candidate pair number 2 answered questions about club collaboration. The pair have a comparative study work program, gathering chairmen and representatives from each club, with the aim of exchanging information about what can be done between clubs during the pandemic.
