Jakarta – In the Covid-19 Pandemic conditions that have spread throughout the world at this time of course make it difficult for people to go on vacation so that for a safe vacation, many travel agents provide virtual tours so that people can feel the sensation of a safe vacation even though it is only virtual. Faculty of Business, LSPR Communication and Business Institute work together with the Association of The Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) held an MOU Signing and Virtual Tour Exploring Indonesia Through Digital Pesona Labuan Bajo.
The collaboration was inaugurated by the Faculty of Business, LSPR Communication and Business Institute with the Association of The Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA), which is supported by ASITA and Komodo Fantastic Tour and initiated by the Cooperation Section of each party on Sunday, July 11, 2021. The signing of the MOU of Cooperation between LSPR Institute and ASITA The signing of the parties was represented by Yuliana R. Prasetyawati, MM Dean of Faculty of Business, LSPR Communication and Business Institute, and DR. N. Rusmiati, M.SI Chairman of the ASITA DPP.
The virtual tour activity as tangible evidence of the inauguration of the collaboration on July 16, 2021, which was carried out by the Faculty of Business LSPR Communication and Business Institute with the Association of The Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) aims to make the public know about tourism locations in Labuan Bajo, knowing what is in that location, what to pay attention to if we are at the tourist location and much more information that will be obtained in this event.
“As we all know, tourism in Indonesia is one of the largest contributors to the country’s foreign exchange and during this COVID-19 pandemic, the tourism sector is one of the ones that has had a very significant impact. So that the government’s program to make tourism villages in Indonesia recover, we must support. Let’s enjoy traveling virtually so that we know more that Indonesia has very beautiful tourism destinations so that we can only travel in Indonesia,” said Yuliana R. Prasetyawati, MM as Dean of Faculty of Business, LSPR Communication and Business Institute.
Meanwhile, Bahriansyah Momod as General Secretary of ASITA DPP stated “The tourism industry is currently being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and one of the events initiated by the MOU with LSPR is a way for us to survive and view that tourism in the future will be a mainstay. from the Indonesian government for the movement of the economy in Indonesia because capital from Indonesia itself is related to the natural beauty, culture, and uniqueness of the region that has various characteristics.”
While DR. N. Rusmiati, M.SI as Chairperson of ASITA DPP said “I feel this activity is very good, As Yuliana R. Prasetyawati, MM said previously, let’s just vacation in Indonesia, therefore we have the opportunity to see Labuan Bajo virtually, When the time comes we will see the beauty. I also agree with the statement from the General Secretary of ASITA’s DPP that nowadays, of course, many people already know Bali, so we should be grateful that Indonesia is a paradise on earth and can be proven. So let’s be proud of LSPR and the natural beauty of Indonesia, which has 34 provinces. Hopefully, this will achieve what the President and the Minister of Tourism want to achieve.”
Jati Paras Ayu, MM.Par as Vice Head of Undergraduate Programme in Tourism conveyed information about tourism in LSPR. The study program at LSPR has one major, namely Hospitality and Tourism Business, where this program studies business management strategies in the field of hospitality and tourism which includes such as hospitality, food and beverage, travel, hospitality on flights and cruises, MICE business, destinations and tourist attractions. This study program educates students to be able to think critically and systematically in identifying hospitality and tourism business opportunities. The core subjects that will be studied later are: 1.) Hospitality and MICE Business, 2.) Hotel Business & Management, 3.) Food & Beverage Management, 4.) Reputation & Risk Management in Hospitality Industry, 4.) MICE Management & Digital Business, 5.) International Event & Showcase, 6.) Tourism & Global Context, 7.) Eco-Tourism. The LSPR Tourism Study Program also collaborates with one of the best hospitality campuses in the world, namely the Hotel Institute Montreux in Switzerland, as well as the International Exam and the Omni program.
Ignasius Suradin, SST.Par from Komodo Fantastico Tour explained the material about the Virtual Tour Labuan Bajo Super Premium Destination. There are 10 related discussions, namely: 1.) Information about Labuan Bajo in more depth such as the location of the destination and its nickname, 2.) Historic events related to Komodo dragons and Labuan Bajo such as the discovery of the Komodo dragon, the establishment of the Komodo National Park and others, 3. ) Overview of Labuan Bajo Tourism Before Sail Komodo where the condition of the Domestic Market has not traveled to Labuan Bajo, Human Resources Tourism also has many problems, Transportation is not well managed, 4.) Overview of Labuan Bajo Tourism After Sail Komodo where the condition has been improved a lot in terms of facilities and infrastructure, the Domestic Market has begun to enter Labuan Bajo, Transportation has begun to increase, 5.) The main activities of the tour that will be carried out in Labuan Bajo are Sightseeing, Trekking, Snorkeling and Diving, 6.) The most interesting spots or places when participating in the Labuan Bajo City Tour are Waringin Peak, Amelia Hill – Sylvia, Batu Cermin Cave and Rangko Cave, 7.) Types of sea transportation, namely Fiber Boat which has types such as Speed Boat Smaller, Standard Speed Boat, Yacht, Luxury Speed Boat and Fast Boat.
