Jakarta – On Friday, September 10, 2021, the London School Beyond Academy held the 5th session of the workshop as well as the last session of the “Guru Jago Kelas Online” series of events. The workshop lasted for one and a half hours via the Zoom platform and was attended by educators. Raising the title “Fun Learning with Tiktok”, LSBA appointed Mr. Irwan Hermawan, S.Pd as a speaker.

Currently, social media has a considerable influence in human life, including in the teaching and learning process. Especially because of the pandemic that has prevented face-to-face learning, teachers must be able to optimize any media for the learning process. Mr. Irwan said that learning through audio-visual can increase students’ interest in learning. Students can more easily absorb lessons by looking at pictures and explanations from the teacher. “Social media can hone the creativity of teachers and students,” he added.

Tiktok is one of the most used social media today. There are so many features that Tiktok has to offer. On this occasion, Mr. Irwan taught the workshop participants how to use the three features of Tiktok including the background, stitch, and duet features. Participants enthusiastically listened to his explanations while practicing directly using their own Tiktok accounts. Mr. Irwan hopes that by using Tiktok or other social media as teaching media, there will be more educational content so that students avoid content that is less useful while teaching students to be wiser in using social media.
