Jakarta – Friday, September 24, 2021 S’talks Channel held their 12th episode with the theme of business entitled “What is Entrepreneur?” with Mr. Sandy Adithia, S.Sn., M.A.B who is the Deputy Head of the Undergraduate Program for Entrepreneurship Management at LSPR. This event was hosted by Rian Noor and Reychando Rintar which was held live on Instagram @lsbajakarta @stalks_channel and @Sandyadhitia at 15.10 to 16.10 WIB.
Mr. Sandy’s journey to become an entrepreneur and teacher began in 2016, with a business called Pijakbumi with his 3 other friends. Pijakbumi is an environmentally friendly shoe business. This business had won 3rd place at the Blibli start up event and regularly participated in the Indonesia Trade Expo from 2017 untill 2020 which was held by the Ministry. Once participated in a competition from Japan and entered the top 10 of a design competition which then had the opportunity to export to that country. Mr. Sandy’s business also often participates in fashion week both nationally and internationally and has been a representative of Indonesia during Milan Fashion Week.
According to Mr. Sandy, an entrepreneur is a person who sells for the greatest profit. The main difference between entrepreneurs and other business people is innovation. Entrepreneurs create innovations from problems which are then solved through business, of course through change and see what is needed by the society. To become an entrepreneur, what must be prepared is mental readiness that is resilient, understanding business models and design thinking. Tips from Mr. Sandy on how to be a good entrepreneur and so that the product can be trusted by many people is to keep innovating and look at each other’s advantages and what people like or are interested in at that time.
At a time of pandemic like this, the way for entrepreneurs to survive is how to change problems for the better or create innovations that are useful for society and of course must have a resilient mentality. Mr. Sandy described the journey of an entrepreneur as being like coffee with palm sugar milk which tastes bitter but also has a sweet taste, because being an entrepreneur is not easy, but if you run it well and enjoy the process, you will feel the sweetness in the end. Finally, the last is question and answer session and then the event ends very well.
