Jakarta Being able to study abroad is the dream of many students. Studying abroad can help open up perspectives, broaden horizons, or even be a life-changing experience. LSPR in collaboration with its global university partners will hold a series of info sessions to jumpstart and ignite the road to being a global citizen entitled “Study Abroad Spotlight: Set Yourself Apart, Your International Journey Starts Here at LSPR!”

Study Abroad Spotlight is a series of events held by the International Relations and Partnerships Office (IRPO) of LSPR to know more about the International Academic Study Program (IASP), how to register, requirements, list of universities, and followed by 14 info sessions to guide students in exploring the student exchange, study abroad, and dual degree programs with LSPR and its international partners.

“LSPR always gives a chance to our students to build international networking and gain firsthand global experiences. With us at LSPR you can make your dreams to study abroad come true. We hope we can give better chances of student to take part in international programs,” said Ms. Candy Hernandez, B.Sn, M.Si, Head of International Relations and Partnership Office, in the Opening Ceremony webinar, Friday (24/09/21). “We encourage you to join the info sessions and the program itself, because this is your part of international journey at LSPR. Jump start and ignite your road to become a global citizen with this program. Don’t pass this chance,” added Ms. Nadine Samala Lamoste, M.A., Deputy Head of International Relations and Partnership Office.

Along with the Opening Ceremony for Study Abroad Spotlight, the webinar also serves as the first info session of IASP 2021. Ms Heidy Isabel, International Relations Coordinator for International Academic Study Program and Partnerships Collaboration, explained that there are three types of IASP exchange, namely the Student Exchange Program, Study Abroad Program, and Dual Degree. The difference between the first two lies in the cost and slot. Whereas the Dual Degree program enables students to achieve one degree from LSPR (S.Ikom) and one degree from the partner university (Bachelor, could be a different major).

Ms Heidy noted that even though the slot is unlimited, not every partner university has the Study Abroad and Dual Degree Program. On the other hand, the Student Exchange Program has a limited slot which is different every year. Therefore, only the best students will be selected, since they will also serve as a Student Ambassador for LSPR in the partner universities. Another highlight is the Erasmus+ Funding, a student exchange program with a scholarship of Monthly Allowance from the Denmark Government. However, the program is even more highly limited since it is only available for an exchange to Zealand Academy of Business and Technology, Denmark, majoring in Marketing Communication, Mass Communication, and Digital Business Management

To be eligible for the programs, students must fulfill the mandatory requirements, namely GPA Minimum of 3.00 (3.25 for Erasmus+) without outstanding subjects, pass English Assessment and all English subjects, recommendation letter, cover letter, interview session with LSPR International Office, and Registration Fee.

Mandatory Criteria of Study Abroad

This Opening Ceremony also marks the opening of the registration. To register, students must complete a form that could be accessed online: https://tinyurl.com/IASP2022. Registration is open until October 30, 2021.

Registration and Payment of Study Abroad

Students are also required to submit documents by November 20, 2021, while the English Assessment will be approximately on December 10, 2021.

Submission of Requirements of Study Abroad

Ms Heidy reminded that there might be extra requirements from the partner university or the embassy in the case of visa application, such as English Proficiency Test, bank statement, transcript, or letter of statement regarding the status of student. These additional requirements might be different for each partner university, depending on their policy. Therefore, students are encouraged to be proactive and research what their destination might need.

After this session, there will be 14 info sessions with the partner universities over the next two weeks, including in-depth look at their programs and virtual tours. For more information, students can contact the LSPR International Office by email [email protected], Instagram @lspr.international, Whatsapp, or LINE. Students can also schedule a visit to the LSPR International Office that currently has to be booked in advance due to social distancing measures. “We hope you are excited, and we hope we will be seeing you here at IRPO. Your international journey starts here at LSPR!” concluded Miss Heidy.
