To increase awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion, LSPR collaboration with British Council held a Short Film Competition for students majoring in Mass Communication. In addition to competitions, for Batch 16 students it was also as a requirement to fulfill their final project in the subject TV & Film Production.
Tuesday, April 28, 2015, Awarding Day held at LSPR Auditorium Prof. Dr. Djajusman Performance & Hall was attended by Mr. Kemal Effendi Gani as Chairman of Yayasan Pesona Pribadi Sejahtera, representatives of English Division and the team of British Council, represented by Sally Goggin as Country Director of British Council, Sir Vernon Ellis as Chair of the British Council and Mr. Summer Xia as Director of Operations Indonesia.
After going through a selection process by a team of British Council, selected 10 nominations, which is Diantara 5, Egress, Islam Untuk Semua, Intuition, Paradoxes, Sorry, The Leashious, Choice not Chosen, 8-1-0, The Recruitment.. Then the three best winners are, “The Leashious” as Runner up 1, “Islam untuk Semua” as ‘Runner-up 2, and “Choice not Chosen” come out as the winner Best Short Film and will also compete at the Manhattan Film Festival, New York at the end of this year.
After the screening “Choice not Chosen ” which have duration for about 7 minutes, the event was closed by a question and answer session from students to representatives of the British Council, Mr. Summer Xia. British Council cooperating with LSPR to conduct Short Film Competition with the aim of building awareness to the public that the status differences in background, culture and the condition is not an obstacle to any individual in carrying out the obligations and get their rights.
