On 30th November 2015, LSPR Research Club held their annual event called “Reborn”, as a form of appreciation to the country’s Creative Industry as well as a celebration of their 4th anniversary. The event was held in Campus B Auditorium of LSPR, and the tagline for this year’s “Reborn” is “Proud in Indonesian Creative Industry.”
The sharing session of the event introduced three speakers, and they represented three creative industry in Indonesia. Andien Tyas, representing music industry, shared that Indonesia’s music industry is already have enough variety of genre, but unfortunately they haven’t receive enough publicity due to the already established western music. Fahad Scale, representing fashion industry also agrees with Andien. The variety of Indonesian local garments are varied enough, and held much potential to be introduced worldwide. As an example, He told the unique story about him combining an army jacket as his top with a sarung as his bottoms. The combination caused a certain fashion company to start a new campaign called “Sarung is The New Denim”. Representing film industry, Ferry Guiza, also called as Kak Ferry, shared a different opinion than the others. He shared that Indonesian film industry still lacks heart touching material, and depends too much on the market.
Andien Tyas performed for the second and last time by singing a recycled Jikustitk song titled “Puisi”, and the event is closed with cake cutting as a celebration of Research Club’s anniversary, and also giving plaques to the three speakers. (Tarrasch / Yolanda)
