Kongkow Bareng Special was held at the Canteen Campus B, LSPR Jakarta with guest-singer, Wendy Marcellinus or usually called as Wendy Marc, he just launched his new single titled Faded and Ada Saatnya that managed to top the Indonesian iTunes charts.

Wendy admitted that his music was influenced by his childhood idol from Indonesia, Glenn Fredly, he then performed one of his single titled Faded which is one of the songs that he wrote by himself and the lyrics are mostly about his personal life experience.

Wendy himself came from a family who loves music. Almost all of his family members could play music instruments and sing, he loves to sing and play music since childhood. During high school, Wendy started to write lyrics and turned it into songs. Finally, the song the he wrote back in 2012 managed to enter the recording studio.

The event continued with a mash up cover of Jessie J’s Flashlight that gained enthusiasm from the crowd.

Wendy explained how social media has a big influenced especially in his career as a singer. “Social media has a wide and unlimited approach, so of course it really matters when I began my first career. The main point when using social media is to promote yourself in a creative way. From content to strategies, it has to be creative.” Wendy also uses social media such as Soundcloud to introduce and promote his songs.

Wendy also said that he has been busy on working his thesis and internship as a last semester student at LSPR, so he will start recording his full-length album as soon as he graduates from LSPR. The event closed with a performance by Wendy with his songs titled Burn It Up and Ada Saatnya which talks about one sided love. (Bella / Putri)
