On Saturday, 22 October 2016, LSPR Jakarta held an open house for its prospective students for Batch 21. The event was attended by high-school students from various cities in Java along with their parents, as they have come to the event to know about LSPR and its curriculum. The event was opened by Ms Past Novel, Batch 10 alumni of LSPR, which is also an active lecturer at LSPR. Deans from each subject and International Lecturer from England and Philippines also participated in this event.

The opening ceremony started with the performances by the 2016 Mr and Ms LSPR, Caraka Satria, Jelita Rumengan and Anggita Pradipta performing a song titled “Closer”. Then continued by a presentation on LSPR where it does not only teach theories to students, but also creates the future musician, actor/actress, young entrepreneur, as well as educated journalist that are reliable for the generations to come.

Continue with an interesting talk show by LSPR alumnus who is successful in their respective fields namely Melinda Babyanna, Tony Alexander, Tasya Syarif, and Rolland. The alumnus shared their experience while still being a student at LSPR and now as professionals. According to Melinda Babyanna, COO of Argo Apparel, as well as an alumni of LSPR Batch 1, which previously became an editor at Marie Clarie Magazine and Femina Magazine, said “Passion is the key to success, do not let yourself choose the wrong university to study at, if you are interested in science communication, LSPR-Jakarta is the right place to be, which could give us a shining career due to the education that we get during our study here.”

The closing ceremony ended with the lottery worth respectively Rp 1,000,000 for five winners. The gift will be used by the prospective students as a discount for their entry fee on the start of the new academic year. (Mellisa/Leonard)​
