Brotherly love can’t best a lover’s love. It was the message portrayed at the end of the “Twins” theatre performance by 20-7A, at least, 30 seconds before the show actually ends. The roar of the crowd filled the Prof. Dr. Djajusman Auditorium and Performance Hall at 22 January 2017, as a mark of a job well done after the show ends. Many were giving standing ovation to the production, some were screaming the names of their friends or families who participated in the production. To cut the long story short, 20-7A did a very good job in serving the audience with a high quality performance.
The story was set in Canala, where a twin called Alan and Dylan. played by Michael Fam and Kelvin Efendi lives. Their parents, Lucas and Mary, played by Matra Wahyu and Nadira Arnindya, were killed by stray bullets in a burglary chase by the police. Devastated by the event, Alan and Dylan holds a massive grudge against the law enforcement, and the city itself. The grudge leads them into becoming a notorious pair of criminal who haunts, and kills people in Canala. One of the victim was a singer named Madam De La Creme, pottrayed by Victor Dianata.
After their reputation and their success rate reach a high peak, they did not realize that the presence of a woman in their life would ruin everything. An ambitious girl, named Daisy, played by Dahlia Bernardini, aspires to be a famous singer. Alan felt an unusual interest in Daisy. Not as a victim, but as something entirely different. They often met with each other, spent times and drew closer and closer each day. Dylan, who silently watches everything, did not like this. In his eyes, his brother is growing weaker and weaker, and he hate this fact. To slap the truth back to Alan, Dylan decided to kidnapped Daisy, and threatens to torture and kill her. He demands Alan to kill her with his own hands, as a prove of their brotherly bond. Confused and cornered Alan, decides to follow his brother demands and killed Daisy. It was all for the brother he grew up with. The brother he suffered with. Unknown to Dylan, the death of Daisy led Alan to a massive mental breakdown. Fueled with anger, grudge, blind to what is right and what is not, Alan, killed his brother. Feeling ecstatic and borderline crazy, he ends their saga with his own life. (Risty/Cik)
