In order to appreciate local works, especially in the film industry, LSPR TV joined hands with Sinema Rabu to hold a film screening event entitled “Layar Putih”. It was held at Prof. Dr. Djajusman Auditorium & Performance Hall, from 20 – 23 March 2017, films produced by local creators were screened. To further appreciate the works, after the end of each movie, a sharing session was held. With a total of four movies was screened, the event successfully attracted attentions from many viewers.

Each of the films presented different cinematography techniques, and also different but engaging story lines. One of the movies called “Jihad Selfie”, which was screened last 21 March 2017. The short movie was directed and created by Noor Huda Ismail at 2016, tells the reality about Indonesian teenager who influenced by ISIS to join them through social media, Facebook. The speaker from that night was Rizki Maulana, who is a researcher from Prasasti Perdamaian Foundation, wants to spread the message that thinking critically, and maintaining relationship with parents are important.

“Istirahatlah Kata-kata” was another title being played. The film was inspired by a national history phenomenon, pleased the audiences with an honest and true story both in narration and visual techniques. Introducing Widi, a rarely known literature figure, but had huge impact in actuality. The film presented a  plot in his struggle while on the run after being accused as the perpetrator of 1996 riot. Capturing a glimpse of the rise of Soeharto regime back in 1990s, specifically during the rebellion of Partai Rakyat Demokratik (PRD), Yoseph Anggi Noen managed to pack the chaotic and terrifying period in a very rare approach, where upon the things that are happening on their life decided to run away and silenced themselves, while at the same time knowing what and when to pass the messages.

After each of sharing session by the speakers after the film was played, the speakers received a certificate of appreciation as a token of gratitude for taking part in the event. (Fakhira/Tiara, Monik/Arman, Nurul, Nadira/Yobella)
