After enduring long selection phase in search for the new tourism ambassador for DKI Jakarta, Abang None Jakarta 2017 has made their 36 choices to represent each administrative city, and proudly, four of LSPR Students managed to make their way through the selection phase. Sylvia Desianty as Representative I for North Jakarta, Sabrina Ayu Rosandhy as None Jakarta Kepulauan Seribu, and Melvin Bonardos together with Karina Syahna as Abang None Jakarta Selatan, are given the chance to continue their fight in the competition. All of the 26 contestants are now entering preparation phase, in which they will have series of training and classes in order to prepare for the next stage of the competition. One of the preparation for the competition is Public Speaking Class. LSPR Jakarta has been chosen to carry this honorable task by giving Public Speaking Class for all 36 contestants.

Located at R.J Room Campus B LSPR Jakarta, on 23rd of May 2017, all 36 contestants were present to attend their Public Speaking class conducted by Ms. Renata Tirta Kurniawan. Before the class began, Ms. Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR, gave an opening speech as the host of the event. She explained how important it is for the contestants to stay focused and fight with all their might. She also elaborated the importance to be a better personality in order to compete in not just domestic level, but also International level, which have entered the Global Village era. Ms. Prita Kemal Gani closed the speech by reminding the contestants that reputation is the key in order to stay and compete at International Level.

Ms. Renata Tirta Kurniawan then continued the event by giving Public Speaking Training. She shared eight elements in order to have a successful public speaking, which are overcoming the fear of public speaking, knowing and connecting to the audiences, make a memorable content, keep the content short and sweet, speak naturally, consciously use body language, dress for success, and last but not least, practice with discipline. Before the class ended, Ms. Renata held a Q & A session, before finally ending the event with group photo, continued with lunch with all contestants and officials of the event. (Tarrasch)
