Grand Final LSPR Band competition had successfully enlivened the crowd at the Prof. Dr. Djajusman Auditorium and Performance Hall, Campus B LSPR Jakarta, on Friday, 2nd June 2017. After two phases of battles between an initial number of 17 bands, LSPR Band Competition 2017: Summer in London, had finally came close to their Grand Final with the chosen top 10 finalists to a showdown on their last contest in the battle field. The competition was filled by bands from various universities, cherishing audiences’ ears with beats and waves throughout genres, ranging from jazz fusion to punk rock musics.
Febiansyah Mikail and Caraka Satria from 92s, the only group from LSPR who also participate in the competition.
The night was led by Yolanda Cenderakasih and Rahmanditya Satria Pratama as Master of Ceremonies. Each participants were required to perform two songs, consisting one mandatory and another optional song. With the evaluation of the three judges, Mr. Immanuel Hutagalung (Deputy Director 3 of LSPR Jakarta), Mr. Julius Caesar (SSR Jakarta) and Mr. Deodato Mahardhika (Yayasan Musik KITA Anak Negeri), the competition commenced at 19.45pm.
Baby O’ Rock, who managed to won the first place of the competition, and also acquired The Best Vocalist award.
The room was entirely kindled by the lively air and rhythms made out of blaring vocals, exciting beats, and uplifting melodies. Starting with Excelsa, and the unique fusion traditional, to then be continued by the performance of Idealis Band. Followed by an astonishing punk rock performance by Baby O’ Rock, and Gelda, namely a jazz group. The night went on with another astounding rock performance by Lada, Glorious Project, 92’s, Level 4, Remaja Senyum, and lastly, Saturhythm.

As a special performance, the Summer in London was too, accompanied by a performance of Gloria Jessica and Rani Ramadhani. Which was then followed by winner announcements for best nominations and the top 3 winners by the three judges of LSPR Band Competition.

Baby O’ Rock acquired the Best Vocal , Lada as the best Guitarist, Remaja Senyum as the Best Keyboardist and Best Drummer, Glorious Project as the Best Bassist. Furthermore, Lada gained the third place, Remaja Senyum on the second place, and the grand prize went to Big O’ Rock as the first winner of LSPR Band Competition: Summer in London 2017.
