Reusable masks that will be relayed to Raudlatul Makfufin Foundation (January 4 2021)
Last Monday, we have visitors from ASEAN Autism Network who sent us packets of reusable masks, that will be relayed to Raudlatul Makfufin Foundation. These mask packs are also sourced from ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance (AHA), which will be useful for mitigating the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. While we pray to God Almighty (Allah) for all of us to overcome this trial, we surely must uphold the current health and safety protocols to reduce infection risks, and just as importantly, boost our immune systems to strengthen our body and mind to face these tumultuous times. Never give up.
APCD conducted a Workshop on Handover Tasks of ASEAN Autism Network Secretariat from APCD to London School Centre for Autism Awareness (LSCAA) on 20 January 2021

ASEAN Autism Network (AAN) Executive Committee Meeting 29 September 2021
ASEAN Autism Network (AAN) conducted its monthly Executive Committee Meeting on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. The meeting was held online.
In the meeting, AAN Representatives gave an update on the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in each of their respective countries. Ms. Candy Hernandez, Head of AAN Secretariat, updated about the AAN Humanitarian Aid Fundraising Campaign for Myanmar, of which the fund is going to be transferred to Myanmar soon.
Ms. Candy also provided news about the ASEAN Autism Self Advocate Network (AASAN) and the establishment of its Indonesian Chapter. Mr. Syvang Xayyavong, Chairperson of Learning, Education and Training Committee, expressed that he also wanted to establish a self-advocate network in his country. APCD offered to work together to help organize training for self-advocates in Lao PDR.
Mr. Cason Tzse Chun Ong, Chairman of AAN, also noted about the project of AAN SOP Booklet, which will be reaching the stage of final checks. Mr. Cason suggested that there should be a digital copy, but also hard copies sent to each member country.

APCD requested collaboration with ASEAN partners to implement the project “Empowering Parents Groups of Children with Special Needs on Physical Activities and Health Promotion to cope during COVID-19 in ASEAN Countries and Japan” under the Community Empowerment (February 2021)
This Project intends to work closely with emerging groups such as ASEAN Autism Network (AAN), United ID (Intellectual Disability) Network in Greater Mekong Sub-region, and other associations for persons with psychosocial disabilities.
APCD explained the Project presentation included objectives, expected outcomes and activity plan to the partners.

The meeting finalized content preparation of regional event on Celebration of World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) 2021.

There were over 130 participants from relevant partners and stakeholders working in the disaster management sector, including Mr. Somchai Rungsilp, Community Development Manager and APCD representative.
Mr. Cason Ong, AAN Chairperson, and Ms. Candy Hernandez, Head of AAN Secretariat, as the entity associated with ASEAN, also joined the meeting.

AAN country members provided an update on the current situation in their respective countries with regards to the COVID-19 epidemic.
Ms. Supaanong ‘NuNu’ Panyasirimongkol, APCD Networking & Collaboration Officer, provided an update on AAN collaboration with APCD on the guidebook translation from English to the ASEAN member countries national languages.
Ms. Siriporn Praserdchat, Logistics Officer, provided an update on the transfer of AAN fund from APCD to the AAN Foundation in Jakarta.

The participants showed an illustration layout for Special School in Kandal Province, Cambodia, for children with disability. Mr. Chan Sarin, Chairman of Cambodia Autism Network (CAN) introduced the proposal.

Lead by NuNu Supaanong as the Head of AASAN with other self advocates from Malaysia and Singapore. Self-advocacy is important for people on the spectrum to speak up, raise awareness, and create chances. AAN Secretariat launched the first Training of Self-Advocates by the ASEAN Autism Self-Advocacy Network (AASAN). This training is also the launching of Self-Advocacy Group in Indonesia. ASEAN Autism Network (AAN) Executive Committee Meeting 28 October 2021
ASEAN Autism Network (AAN) held its monthly Executive Committee Meeting on Thursday, October 28, 2021. The meeting was conducted virtually via online platform.
In the meeting, Mr. Cason Tzse Chun Ong, Chairman of AAN, finalized the 5 th AAN Congress Report and accepted it as the official report. Ms. Candy Hernandez, Head of AAN Secretariat, presented the new AAN Website with an offline link and encouraged the members to give input for further development of the website.
Afterwards, each AAN Representatives gave an update on the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective countries. Mr. Cason talked about the importance of highlighting mental health issues related to the pandemic, especially identifying mental health issues and anxiety problems experienced by autistic persons during these times.
