Friday, 12 August 2016, at Prof. Margono Research Centre, LSPR CAPRS held ASEAN Talks with the theme “ASEAN Community: Now and Future” as it reach the peak of the series of ASEAN’s 49th year anniversary events which falls on 8 August 2016.
This event was opened with a welcome remarks by founder and director LSPR Jakarta, Mrs Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR and followed by a discussion with Mr Ashariyadi, Secretary of Directorate General of ASEAN Cooperation Ministry of Foreign Affairs which moderated by Ms. Yuliana Riana.
Mr. Ashariyadi said that the purpose of ASEAN in the future is to create a society that is more cohesive, inclusive, and resilient. He also said although there is MEA, people do not have to worry about other ASEAN countries will flood Indonesia’s labor market. This is because everything is already set up as good as possible by the government. Regulations that impede recruitment of foreign labor is abolished, but only in the sector of professional workforce, namely Engineering, Architects, Accountants, Dentists, Tourism Manpower, Survey Manpower, Medical Practitioner, and Nurse.
This event was closed with the awarding of the plaque of appreciation by Mrs Prita Kemal Gani to Mr. Ashariyadi, blowing out candles, cutting cakes, and taking picture together. (Yolanda)
