Childhood is the most important process in human life. The need for special attention to physical and mental needs of the children is crucial for the adults to think about. The same applies to education. Every child has the right to receive mentoring and teaching in accordance to their capabilities in order to ensure a bright future for them.
Dr. Weny Savitry Sembiring, P.Si, M.Si, explained the importance of a curriculum specialized for those who are in special needs, in an event named “Autism Awareness Teachers Training: Inclusion Program Friendly for Children with Special Needs” on 16 February at LSPR Prof. Dr. Djajusman Auditorium & Performance Hall. Dr. Weny informs that every child has their own unique way of thinking, and they are not the same with others. With that in mind, normal education system might not be sufficient in fulfilling the educational needs for children with special needs.
To fulfill those conditions, a specialized curriculum that can support learning process of the children with special needs in order to fully maximize their potential is needed. Inclusion Program offers the flexibility in education system so that children with special needs can comprehend the learning materials and subjects specialized with unique capability for children with special needs.
