Jakarta – On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, the London School Beyond Academy held the 3rd session of the ‘Guru Jago Kelas Online’ series of events, which is a workshop and competition for teaching materials for students with special needs with the sessions’ title ‘Cara Baru Belajar Seru Menggunakan Aplikasi Gartic.io’. The event takes place from 13.00 to 14.30 and is held on the Zoom Meeting platform. The workshop was presented by Novita Sari S.Pd who is an educator for students with special needs.

The event started with an introduction from Novita Sari and sharing stories about the obstacles experienced during online classes. Then the event continued with a discussion of the Quantum Teaching Model in the learning process called ‘TANDUR’. TANDUR itself contains of these following steps; Grow, Experience, Name, Demonstrate, Repeat, and Celebrate. In addition to the TANDUR method, Novita Sari also discussed how the media can optimize the experience and acceptance of students’ information along with examples of media that can be used.

Novita Sari and the workshop participants tried to play on Garctic.io

Novita Sari mentioned ‘garctic.io’ which can be a reference for learning media. Starting from the introduction of what ‘garctic.io’ is to how the game ‘garctic.io’ can optimize the experience and information reception of students. ‘Gartic.io’ itself is a guessing game through pictures drawn by participants. Novita Sari and the workshop participants tried to play on ‘garctic.io’ so that the partcipants could become familiar and could use ‘garctic.io’ in the future learning process. The session closed with participants’ opinions about the game ‘garctic.io’ and closing remarks from Novita Sari.
