To coincide with International Women’s Day, the LSPR Institute of Communication and Business held an Inauguration Press Conference for the appointment of Professor Anne Gregory as Adjunct Professor at the LSPR Institute of Communication and Business & a Webinar related to the “Global Capability Framework in Public Relations & Management Communication 2022” on March 8, 2022.
Welcoming LSPR’s 30th anniversary as an Institute of Communication and Business, LSPR is very honoured to have Prof Anne Gregory as Professor at LSPR. It is a great achievement for LSPR to have one of the Professors of Public Relations in the world to be a part of the LSPR family. As an Adjunct Professor, his main role is to prepare the LSPR academic program to become a global standard, as well as to foster a rich research culture within the LSPR Academic Community. Founder & CEO of LSPR, Prita Kemal Gani was present as the opening speaker, saying “Professor Anne Gregory, World Class Best Professor in Public Relations Studies has done a lot of research and published books related to Public Relations which are the basis and academic guidelines for LSPR. Professor Anne Gregory is very knowledgeable and is a public relations expert who contributes and is influential on a global level. Prof. Anne has published more than 100 book chapters, journal articles and scholars, and also serves as the Editor of the Communication Management journal. Last year, he was awarded the Atlas Award from the Public Relations Society of America and the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Canadian Public Relations Society. In addition, he also received The Sir Stephen Tallents Medal from the CIPR, the Distinguished Pathfinder Award for Research from the US Institute for Public Relations and the Premio International Award from the Portuguese Business Communication Association.
Professor Anne Gregory is also happy to be a part of LSPR, “This is a valuable opportunity for me to be selected as a Professor at LSPR, Indonesia. For several years, I have had an interest in being active in scientific writing within the global academy and contributing to education. We need a variety of educational opportunities or scholarships for educators, if we as academics, professionals and society contribute together for the advancement of education. Now, I have the opportunity to contribute more with LSPR to advance education.” In this event, Professor Anne also presented the Global Capability Framework, the first and only Global Capability Framework in the world which is a milestone for the Public Relations or Public Relations profession. In her first formal assignment as LSPR Adjunct Professor, Anne Gregory introduced the Framework, explaining how the Framework was developed and how it can be used to ensure that every practitioner can perform at their best. Anne also explains how this paved the way for Indonesia’s own Capability Framework and celebrates the contribution it makes to the global profession.
Present as the Keynote speech, Mr. Usman Kansong, S.Sos, M.Si, Director General of Information and Public Communication of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia. In his speech, he said “It is an honour for me to have the opportunity to welcome Prof. Anne Gregory as World Class Adjunct Professor at the LSPR Communication and Business Institute. This collaboration will be a significant step in improving the performance of this institution, raising the LSPR rating, and also developing the capacity of its human resources. With the expertise and experience of Prof. Gregory in the field of corporate communications, we are optimistic that LSPR will also experience world-class education and achievements. In this digital era, the PR industry has growth potential.
The PR industry has shown that it must be very flexible and have a sustainable program. PR practitioners are expected to offer a much wider range of services than in previous years, and this influences the academic sector to keep up with changes in industry. “According to the Asia Pacific Communication Monitor (APCM) 2021, the following are the most important aspects of communication management through 2023: tackling the digital evolution and social web; using big data and algorithms for communication; build and maintain trust; strengthening the role of the communication function for decision making by top management; and dealing with sustainable development and social responsibility,” he added.
