Bekasi – Huawei Indonesia collaborated with LSPR Communication & Business Institute in organizing the Huawei Film Awards. The event was held at The Amani Palladium Theater on Tuesday, December 18, 2019 which marked the collaboration between LSPR and Huawei through the signing of the Huawei Film Awards (HFA) cooperation proposal. LSPR and Huawei run the collaboration because it is in line with the vision of HFA, and LSPR which also supports young filmmakers to make short films. With this partnership, Huawei will provide an opportunity to explore the creativity of the younger generation by using the latest technology in filmmaking using smartphones. Through this program, HFA students will be able to increase their creativity, especially in the field of Digital Film Making and increase global competitiveness.
The event was attended by Angga Dwimas Sangsoko the award-winning director and producer, and Tompi, who was first known as a popular singer and who recently directed his first film, both of which were panelists in the Huawei Film Awards. Also in attendance were Lo Khing Seng, Deputy Country Director, Huawei CBG Indonesia, and Mrs. Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR APR the Director and Founder of LSPR.
Huawei Consumer Business Group Indonesia announced its first film award in the Asia Pacific region to encourage and inspire professional filmmakers and content creators to develop their creativity through stories filmed using the Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphone. The Huawei Film Awards are intended for Budding Smartphones Filmmakers and Content Creators. A short film award using a Huawei Smartphone is available for the first time. The Budding Filmmakers Smartphones and Content Creators finally got the chance to win the award through the Huawei Film Awards. The award event was not only attended by Indonesia but also from competitors from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Themed “Empowering Your Possibilities”, the Huawei Film Awards encourage filmmakers and emerging content creators to explore artistic and creative possibilities in telling great stories by utilizing Huawei’s leading mobile camera technology. Winners in the “Best Film” category will receive a grand prize of USD 20,000 (Rp. 280 million). Awards also included APAC’s Best Director, APAC’s Best Cinematography, APAC’s Best Actor (Male or Female), and Best Country Film. Winners from all categories will receive a trophy and certificate. The winner of the Best Country Level Film in Indonesia will also qualify with Huawei Mate 30 Pro. The winner of the HUAWEI Film Awards will be announced on March 6, 2020.
