Jakarta – Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan held a live broadcast via the KEMENDIKBUD RI Youtube channel on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. This event aims to convey information about the joint decisions of 4 Ministers regarding the implementation of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic to local government officials, students, educators, education staff and parents or guardians of students in Indonesia.

The speakers are Muhadjir Effendy (Menteri Koordinator bidang Pembangunan dan Kebudayaan), Nadiem Anwar Makarim (Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan), Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (Menteri Agama), Budi Gunadi Sadikin (Menteri Kesehatan), M. Tito Karnavian (Menteri Dalam Negeri), Jumeri (Dirjen PAUD Dikdasmen), and Wiku Adisasmito (Juru Bicara Satgas Penanganan Covid-19).

The event began with remarks from Mr. Muhadjir Effendy and continued with the first presentation from Mendikbud, Mr. Nadiem Makarim. He explained various considerations and reasons why in the end face-to-face learning is important to carry out immediately. He said that after all educators were completely vaccinated, educational units were required to provide limited face-to-face learning services while still implementing health protocols and still providing distance learning options. But the final decision rests with the parents who can choose for their child to do limited face-to-face learning or stick to distance learning.

Mendikbud also explained the guidelines for implementing limited face-to-face learning. It is compulsory for all educational units to follow strict health protocols. The number of students during face-to-face learning is limited, maximum 50% of the capacity per class. In addition, activities that generate crowds such as canteens, sports and extracurricular activities are still not allowed during the transition period (first 2 months). Nadiem also emphasized that the active role of the head of the education unit and the regional government, the regional office of the Ministry of Religion is needed to ensure learning can run safely.

Dirjen Paud Dikdasmen, Mr. Jumeri, gave an explanation of the various good practices of face-to-face learning that schools can do during face-to-face learning. Mr. Wiku adisasmito, Juru Bicara Satgas Penanganan Covid-19, representing Mr. Doni Monardo (Kepala BNBP) also gave a presentation on important points in handling covid-19 related to this SKB 4 Menteri.

Menteri Agama, Menteri Kesehatan, and Menteri Dalam Negeri also provided directions and fully supported the limited face-to-face learning policy. The Ministers hope that the local government, education units, and all parties involved can understand well the guidelines for the implementation of learning and this lesson plan can run smoothly and get good results.
