MANGROVE PLANTING VOL.II
LSPR 4C (Climate Change Champions Club) stands out as a community focused on environmental issues, fostering a sense of responsibility toward the planet. In line with its commitment to environmental stewardship, LSPR 4C organises the annual “Mangrove Planting Vol.2” event. In collaboration with Yayasan KEHATI, this initiative invites participants to engage directly in planting mangrove seedlings, highlighting the critical role these trees play in maintaining ecological balance. The event aims to educate participants about the importance of mangrove preservation while igniting their passion for environmental activism under the theme “One Seed, One Hope.” This slogan reminds everyone that caring for nature can start with planting just one mangrove seedling, which contributes significantly to ecosystem sustainability.
The event is scheduled for August 12, 2023, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Kolam Labuh Retensi in Cilincing, North Jakarta, and expects to gather 65 participants. The day will kick off with a cleanup effort before planting 350 mangrove saplings, with some reserved for later replacement. After the planting, participants will enjoy refreshments and share in documenting the day’s activities before returning to campus. This initiative is not a one-time event; it includes monthly follow-ups for the care and monitoring of the planted mangroves, reinforcing LSPR 4C’s dedication to nurturing a sustainable future through proactive environmental engagement.
