Lack of awareness and acceptance from people towards Children with special needed (ABK) and also the lack of facilities for ABK, The Office Staff of Indonesia President hosts Film Screening about ABK “Jembatan Pensil” and “Nawacita dan Pemenuhan Hak Berkebutuhan Khusus” on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Gedung Krida Bhakti Sekretariat Negara RI.
The speaker were: Bambang Sugeng (Director of Social rehabilitation of persons with Disability Ministry), Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR (London School Centre for Autism Awareness), Earn Ekadibrata (Chairman of the Communication Forum of parents of children with Special Indonesia), Indra Gunawan (Children in need Special Assistant Deputy, Ministry of women empowerment and child protection). The seminar was attended by 100 participants consisting of parents of ABK, the observer, and as well as the Children of ABK itself.
In this discussion, Mrs. Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR (co-founder of LSPR-Jakarta) as one of the speakers convey that it takes the role of Government in developing the potential of ABK, giving opportunities and fulfilling the right of ABK. Besides private parties expected more job opportunities open to the children of ABK. For example, Thailand established Coffee Shop where the barista consists of ABK. By creating a work Hall, Mrs. Prita also hoped Indonesia would later have the facilities and the friendly environment of ABK as already been done in Dubai, the Dubai Government set up the Dubai Autism Centre, as a Centre for therapy, nutritionist for ABK. So, in the end we do hope ABK expects to have the same rights in Indonesia.
