On August 3, 2018, Class 21-14A presented a theater performance titled as “An American in Paris” by Alan Jay Lerner at Prof. Dr. Djajusman Auditorium and Performance Hall. The theater presented a story about Jerry Mulligan (Aaron Andrew) and Stunning French Ballerina named Lisa Bouvier (Febe Chelsea). Jerry Mulligan, Henri Baurel, Adam Cook are Three Musketeers.
Struck by a mysterious girl and ready to rebuild his life at the end of World War II, American soldier, Jerry Mulligan, decides to stay in Paris and nurture his passion for painting. When Jerry is reconnected with the mysterious girl, he seems certain that he made the right decision. That is, until he discovers that she is the very same woman that he and Adam have been encouraging Henri to propose to. Meanwhile, Jerry makes the acquaintance of headstrong American philanthropist, Milo Roberts, who strucks by his talent, giving him a new perspective and drown him into the art of Paris.
Lisa struggles to choose between her obligation to Henri and what she thinks might be her true love to Jerry. As each man comes to terms with his own fate, Milo realizes that her passion might be better spent trying to help others than herself. After, it’s revealed that Lise is beholden to Henri because he and his family saved her life during the World War II. Both she and Henri realize that it’s time to let go.
When the show starts at the very beginning, she claims her place as a free artist in France, but she knows that she is meant to be with Jerry. Then they reunited at the River Seine and walk off into the Paris night. The plot of the story is very romantic. (Ina/Putik)
