Jakarta – LSPR Communication and Business Institute students majoring in Marketing Communication classes MKT22-2SP and MKT22-3SP, held the G-Spaceture Girl Area Tournament on August 7, 2021. G-Spaceture is the first women’s-only Esport tournament held by LSPR and is one of the series of Marketing Communication Showcase 2021 #CREATIVITY INPANDEMIC. The purpose of this event is not only to provide a platform for female gamers, but also to provide an understanding to the younger generation that the potential to become an Esports athlete is not only open to men but also women. This event takes place online via zoom and was broadcasted live via LSPR TV’s youtube. Guided by Cika and Rahel as MCs, the event opened with remarks from Glenn Alvin Syahputra as Chairman of G-Spaceture, Dr Sri Ulya Suskarwati SE Msi as Head of the LSPR IKB Study Program, and Mrs. Prita Kemal Gani MBA MCIPR APR as Founder & CEO of IKB LSPR. This event also received support from LSPR lecturers who were also present on this occasion.

Mr. Ari Juliano Gema as speaker

Before the tournament started, participants first took part in a talk show with the theme “Beyond the Future”. This talkshow invited two speakers, Mr. Ari Juliano Gema as Expert Staff to the Minister for Bureaucratic Reform and Regulation of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Anisa Rahim as Onic Esports Talent. Mr. Ari explained about the development of the game from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in the midst of a pandemic. He said, “There is an increase in revenue of around 70% during this pandemic, because the game industry is transforming digitally. But unfortunately, local games are still inferior to foreign games. He said that the government supports the development of the local game industry by finding investors through overseas events, and providing training. Finally, Mr. Ari invites the audience to support the local game industry so that they can become kings in their own country and can expand outward to compete with international games.

Anisa Rahim shared about career in esport

Furthermore, Anisa shared information about a career in the world of esports. She said to be able to compete in the esports world, one must be willing to develop, take advantage of existing platforms, build relationships, and continue to hone skills by frequently participating in tournaments ranging from small to large. Anisa emphasized “the most important thing is to be consistent and have a good attitude” whether you want to be a talent or a pro player.

The event continued with a tournament which was divided into 3 sessions guided by Dave and Ole as Casters. There was also a special appearance from Arsy Widianto who enlivened the event. The total prize for this tournament is 7,000,000 rupiah. The tournament was won by Eagle 365 Esport who won first place, Icis Nona in second place, and Hexorion AB in third place.
