Jakarta – As part of the International Organization and Corporation subject in LSPR Communication &  Business Institute, the Undergraduate Programme of International Relations Communication  Studies held a Guest Lecture Webinar entitled “Communication in the United Nations System”.  The activity, which was exclusively open to International Relations Communication students  from batch 22, was held through the Zoom platform on Monday, 19th of April 2021. In this  Guest Lecture, the Undergraduate Programme of International Relations Communication  Studies invited Mr. Raka Tantra D. Pamungkas, S.IP, M.Si, M.A (Second Secretary at the  Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations, New York) as the guest  speaker, and Ms. Gracia Paramitha, Ph.D (Deputy Head of Undergraduate Programme of  International Relations Communication Studies) as the moderator. 

Mr. Raka started off the Guest Lecture with an introduction towards the United Nations itself,  including its role, history and notable events. Shortly after, Mr. Raka also explained the  structure of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in New  York. These two materials provided fundamental understanding of the United Nations body,  including the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia, towards International Relations  Communication students of LSPR Communication & Business Institute who—in majority— have strong interest towards the subject. Not to mention, Mr. Raka gave examples of proposals  which is used in Draft Resolution, which serve as crucial instrument in shaping the dynamics  of international relations. Furthermore, Mr. Raka also gave a brief theoretical lecture on the  types of approaches by William Zartman that hasand is stillbeing used within the scope  of international relations, such as Structural Approach, Strategic Approach, and Behavioral  Approach. 

At the end of the Guest Lecture, there was a question and answers (Q&A) session, in which  both lecturers and students actively participated in. The Guest Lecture gave strong insights  towards all participants regarding the United Nations in general as it is explained from the  perspective and experience of an Indonesian Diplomat.
