Jakarta – On 2 July 2021, Guest Lecture for Indonesian Communication System: History, Media & Culture Subject was held virtually through the Zoom platform. With a theme, ‘Broadcasting and Film Industry and Policy in the Future’, this Guest Lecture invited Mr Yuliandre Darwis, PhD, Commissioner of The Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI Pusat), and Mr Rommy Fibri Hardiyanto, M.I.Kom, Chairman of The Republic of Indonesia Film Censorship Board (LSF RI) as speakers. This event attended by approximately 700 participants who were First-Year students from batch 24 in Communication Studies.

Mr Yuliandre Darwis, PhD shared his experience while working at KPI

As a communication expert in Indonesia, Mr Yuliandre has made many achievements and contributions to the country. He then shared this with the students so that they had an idea of the scope of work in communication media fields. He also shared his experience while working at KPI and the problems he faced within the commission. Students welcomed this Guest Lecture enthusiastically and actively asked questions during the questions and answer session.

Mr Rommy shared his experiences in the world of journalists

Meanwhile, in the afternoon session, the public lecture also took place no less excitingly. Mr Rommy, who is active as chairman of LSF RI, also shared his experiences in the world of journalists before he finally entered the institution. Several media issues in Indonesia became attractive discussion material for students, so the public lecture went very well. From Guest Lecture, it is hoped that all participants-in particular the First-Year students-are inspired and motivated to achieve their dreams within the communication fields and can become the next generation of future communication experts.
