Jakarta – Friday, 16 July 2021, LSPR Communication Faculty held an Organizational Communication Public Lecture with the theme “The Challenge and Changing Landscape of Organizational Communication in Industrial & Government Communication Now” through the ZOOM platform from 01.30 to 03.00 WIB. This public lecture invites Ms. Amalia Yaksa Parijata as Vice President of Marketing & Distribution Channel at Citilink Indonesia and Mr. Widya Priyahita Pudjibudojo as Special Staff of the Ministry of State Secretary for Institutional Transformation & Human Resources of the Republic of Indonesia. This discussion was moderated by Mr. Taufan Teguh Akbari, Ph.D as Lecturer & Coordinator of the Organizational Communication course.

Ms. Amalia explained about the three pillars

This discussion was opened with remarks from Mr. Taufan. Entering the discussion session, Ms. Amalia explained the prospects for the aviation business during the pandemic. During the pandemic, transformation can be carried out with the slogan ‘The key is not only transformation but also action’. She explained that there are 3 pillars in formulating strategies that can guide and achieve targets and goals, which are People, Product, and Innovation. Ms. Amalia also explained that during the pandemic various kinds of innovations were born for Citilink, one of which was the Cargo Freighter passenger plane being converted into a cargo plane as a backbone during the pandemic which was used for transportation of medical equipment and PPE (Personal protective equipment).

Mr. Widya explained eight main characters of organizations in the future

The next discussion material was delivered by Mr. Widya who discussed the use of technology in communication. He said, with today’s technology, disruption is one way to advance technology, and take Gojek for example. “Collaboration is important but there must be competition as well, we must innovate so that it does not run-in place,” concluded Mr. Widya. Closing the session, Mr. Widya explained that there are 8 main characters of organizations in the future which are 1) Innovation-driven, 2) Core business mastery, 3) Agile organization culture, 4) Data-driven policy, 5) High-tech based business process & operation, 6) Sustainable & green ecosystem, 7) Happy, healthy, wealthy people (people-centered), and 8) Well maintained communication & relationship.
