Jakarta – Centre for ASEAN Public Relations Studies (CAPRS), LSPR Communication & Business Institute, held a webinar with the theme, “Diplomacy by Ambassador Djauhari”. The guest speaker in this webinar was the Ambassador of Indonesia to China and Mongolia, H.E. Djauhari Oratmangun and hosted by the Head of CAPRS, Mrs. Yuliana R. Prasetyawati. (30/06)

The Ambassador of Indonesia to China and Mongolia, H.E. Djauhari Oratmangun

Ambasador Djauhari explained that the current focus of economic diplomacy is the strengthening economic cooperation between Indonesia and China. There are 4 points that can be the potential in investment cooperation which are the digital economy, the electric vehicle industry, tourism and human resources. He also said, for the first time, in 2020, Indonesia experienced a trade surplus between Indonesia and China.

Furthermore, Ambasador Djauhari said that the Embassy of Indonesian in Beijing is committed to maximize the opportunities available to assist Indonesia’s economic growth during this pandemic. One of them is by helping to promote and achieve significant sales of shrimp crackers from Indonesia through Tik Tok. He also conveyed ideas that could be properly explored to support tourism potential by using hashtag (#) “work from home” (#WorkFromHome) change to “work from Bali” (#WorkFromBali), or “work from Lombok” (#WorkFromLombok).

Webinar participants

Ambassador Djauhari also gave some tips to students who participated regarding the art of diplomacy. The three keys in diplomacy are, know the politics of a country, who is the key person, and understand the culture of a country. There were 240 participants who joined this webinar consisting of students from LSPR and various universities in Indonesia. In addition, academicians, professionals and alumni were also present as participants.
