[UPDATE] LSPR Communication and Business Institute, Jakarta welcomes the new partnership with the British Council in delivering the Aptis International English Exam

Jakarta – The Virtual MOU Signing on Friday, 12 March 2021 was attended by Mr. Hugh Moffatt, Country Director British Council Indonesia, Mr. James Cleere, the Chairman of British Council Indonesia Foundation, Mr. Kishore Roy, Exams Cluster Lead for South East Asia, Mr. Shei Ren Ong Global Commercial Development Manager, Ms. Florecita Laturiuw, Account Relationship Manager, and Ms. Farida Limbong the Senior Exams Business Development Manager represent  British Council Indonesia. Representatives from LSPR were Dr. Andre Ikhsano – Rector, Dr. Janette M. Pinariya Vice Rector I, Mr. Mikhael Yulius Cobis – Dean for Communication Faculty, Ms. Yuliana Prasetyawati – Dean for Business Faculty, Ms. Sue Davies the Head of English Division and Ms. Candy Hernandez the Director for the International Relations and Partnership Office.

Dr. Janette M. Pinariya gave the opening remarks of the Virtual MOU Signing stating, “As we know, global COVID-19 emergency has disrupted the lives of millions of people, including institutions known to implement strict social distancing policies. The diffusion of information and communications technology (ICT) into all aspects of our lives and its impact on altering the nature of social interactions is not a new phenomenon. The Aptis remote delivery model in partnership between LSPR and British Council hopes that it will give a lot of benefit to our students and help to achieve LSPR’s outlook to become a world class institution with the digital capability and successful learning. This examination makes LSPR students safer with distance learning and helps to promote certain life skills for students to learn time management, multi-tasking, responsibility and independent learning skills. We look forward to the successful implementation of the partnership and believe this collaboration will create mutually beneficial cooperation, and continue to strengthen the partnership between both parties.”

Mr Hugh Moffatt from UK represents the British Council and he mentioned, “This collaboration represents a long standing relationship with British Council, Its really interesting to see the development of LSPR and Indonesia for 10 years and it really demonstrates how Indonesia is growing the International ambition and LSPR has grown significantly so it’s so fantastic to be here and see in actions, thank you so much for that. As for all my colleagues in the British Council, who have worked very hard in this partnership because for us English is the key of the International door that could be unlocked for many people through communication. It’s fantastic facilities and extraordinary and I look forward to developing the relationship. As I remember the smaller version of LSPR but now it has become extraordinary. Back in 2018, the conversation begun on Aptis and how we could work together and lead us to a lot of ideas and learning English is one of them and one way to working together, obviously APTIS is global tools that have been accredited which runs in 85 country and millions people used it for applied practically and supporting existing program. Pandemic indeed made a new adaptation, Aptis remote where we could help you and work with you to remote testing which could be applied in the safe environment to ensure  security and validity to demonstrate this international process. 

750 students taking the test in the upcoming year we hope this could be also the encouragement for others to look out so we are really really proud LSPR has chosen Aptis and we will be applying Aptis within your extraordinary range of programs and support the students to work internationally and also within Indonesia. Looks like this partnership has evolved overtime and we have exciting further conversations on how to develop to work in your growth and how we could find different innovations in the new way of working. I look forward to the next virtual MOU signing ceremony.”

The MOU was signed by Dr. Andre Ikhsano who represents LSPR and James Cleere the Chairman of British Council Indonesia Foundation. This MOU Signing ceremony also marked a small step to start the set of new collaboration for both faculties in delivering the Aptis International English Exam and also intend to assess LSPR Students as Global Communicators!
