Jakarta – On July 17, Research Centre LSPR held an online Workshop entitled “How to get Published in an Academic Journal” which presenting LSPR Lecturer, i.e. Vice Rector 2, Dr. Yolanda Stellarosa, M.Si;  Director of Postgraduate Programme, Dr. Rino F. Boer; Director of Research, Publication, and Community Service, Rudi Sukandar, Ph.D; Head of Research Centre, Rendro Dhani, Ph.D, and Programme Director of International Communication Concentration, Adam J. Fenton, Ph.D.

In the discussion, Dr. Rudi Sukandar discussed some important things before the researchers published their studies, such as the elements of the paper (i.e., abstracts, theoretical frameworks, language, and coherence), citation styles, and ethical standards to avoid the problem of plagiarism. Before submitting to journals, Dr. Rudi also advised researchers to make sure in choosing the right journal, the scope, and the policies of the journal. Next, the presentation from Dr. Rino F. Boer explains do’s and don’ts when writing article journals. The things that need to be done for lecturers are to use the lspr.edu account which will facilitate the publication of data on google scholarship, SISTER, and can register on Scopus, Elsevier, and others. The researchers also need to know how to write good articles by paraphrasing and describing their own language to avoid Plagiarism. The next speaker, Dr. Adam suggested that researchers should not focus too much on submitting their articles in Scopus indexed journals, as there are many other international journals that are credible but not Scopus indexed, such as journals from Melbourne University.

Dr. Yolanda explained things that must be considered when publishing scientific journals that are looking for journals that are relevant to the topic of the researcher and need citations of articles from the journal. In addition, if you get a revision based on comments from reviewers which is to improve the quality of researchers writing. Journal publications are useful for the community. Finally, Dr. Rendro suggested tips on how to obtain journal articles and other forms of reference from various sources, including thousands of new e-books and e-journals from the LSPR e-library collection for free. In addition, Dr. Rendro also provides tips on various applications that can be used for free to write citations and references in accordance with APA style, making it easier for students/lecturers to complete their writing well.
