The talkshow invited various female leaders from the technology industry, including Alamanda Shantika, Vice President of Product at Gojek, Karina Akib, a Strategic Partners Manager at Google and Ine Yordenaya, Vice Editor in Chief at Detik.com. The speakers discussed how the tech industry really lacks female leaders or developers, technology isn’t as difficult as it may seem said Alamanda, so as one of her efforts to create more awareness among students with regards to technology, she created a program with one of Indonesia’s leading university. She also continued saying how Gojek itself is more of a school than a company, as they also hire fresh graduates compared to hiring professionals. Ine commented how there are barriers for women to get into the tech industry, but we need to reflect and not underestimate ourselves.

The workshop was lead by Faizal Rahman, the head of design at Flipbox studio. The workshop taught how to make a mobile application, in this case we learned by using a very easy and helpful application called Marvelapp and Pencil. Hopefully the talkshow and workshop encourage students to get into the tech industry. (Nabila / Sabrina)
