Jakarta – London School Radio had the opportunity to interview Mrs. Prita Kemal Gani MBA, MCIPR, APR, the Founder & CEO of LSPR Communication and Business Institute, when she visited LSPR campus on Monday, 16 March 2020. This interview was opened by Diandra the broadcaster from London School Radio. Diandra asked Mrs. Prita several questions, especially about the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Mrs. Prita said that this pandemic had become a serious issue, but she advised us not to panic. “LSPR has been cleaning, fogging, and also spraying disinfectant in the campus area. The classes have also been locked and sterilized. But there are still areas that can be visited by students if needed, such as the lobby, academic, and thesis areas. In addition, LSPR also checks the body temperature of anyone who enters the campus areas, and also hand sanitizers are provided”, she said in the interview.

She also stated that in his instruction, the government asked the leaders of universities, including LSPR, to change their activities from on-campus to off-campus, with all learning being provided online. In response to this, LSPR has prepared lecturers to video teaching material. Supporting departments such as the Career Center with speakers and mentors also prepared programs online, as well as creative entrepreneurship centers conducting online coaching programs, mentorship, and others.

“Counseling can also be done online with supervisors and academic lecturers which includes counseling with LSPR counselors regarding problems faced by students. All staff, lecturers, and students can contact the hotline that has been prepared by LSPR “, she added.

During the online session, lecturers also began doing research from home, writing journal articles, preparing scientific works that will be useful for students and the wider community. Mrs. Prita hopes, “this pandemic can be overcome immediately so it does not spread widely, and we can carry out activities as usual again so that students can come to campus and have meetings in person”.

Mrs. Prita also advised LSPR students to take lessons in each incident that happens. She explained with an example, “When I went to campus to study, there were so many lessons that could be learnt apart from the lessons themselves. When going to campus on a trip both in public and private vehicles, we learn through seeing the circumstances around and to campus. Then, when we arrive at campus we also learn from the campus environment, for example from restaurants, hotels, malls, and offices, we see people who go to work every day in life. When we are on campus, we can also learn from friends through the LSPR Club, LSPR staff, lecturers, guest lecturers, and mentors. Similarly, when we are in class, we learn from friends during discussions, learn from lecturers who teach, learn discipline, do essays, projects, presentations, so that makes our knowledge broad “.

“If all of this is now done online, of course, the activities that we used to do before are being left behind. Therefore, I really want this epidemic to pass quickly so we can all return to normal activities immediately”, she said hopefully.
